A child is like a butterfly in the wind some can fly higher than others but each one flies the best it can. Why compare one against the other. Each one is different, each one is special, each one is unique.
As we stand at the threshold of the new academic session we look forward to achieve excellence in all spheres in the forthcoming year as well.
With the blessings and divine grace of the almighty and the persistent support from the school management and worthy parents, we were able to achieve the set standards and goals in the academic session 2018-19.
We believe that knowledge and education is an investment that pays the best return to students in their future, therefore we have left no stone unturned to provide quality education to our students. On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate our achievements to the sincere efforts of our students and staff members who have strived hard to achieve beyond expectation to uphold the school motto ”Our Attitude determines Our Altitude.”
Achieving academic excellence is the heart of our endeavour as educators, our students made us proud by passing out with flying colours in board exams. School achieved 100% result in 12th and 10th board classes. Our school achieved above 250 API in class 12th & received appreciation letter from Chief Of Staff 9 Corps & Cdr 21 sub area. Our school topper Sampada Sharma secured 97% She was the district topper, western command topper and AWES topper in commerce stream. She received cash prize of rupees 20000, a kindle and an appreciation letter from the chief of army staff Gen Bipin Rawat. She also received cash prize of rupees 5000 from Cdr 21 Sub Area. Now she is pursuing her graduation in the prestigious lady Shri Ram college of commerce Delhi. Our humanities stream topper Harkirat secured 95% and our science topper Shivam Pandey secured 92%. Five Students achieved above 90% in class 10th.
Our students Rohini Jaswal and Kajal Samyal got admission in medical college through NEET. Harkirat got selected in Army Institute of Law Mohali, Gurkirat kaur of Humanities stream got selected in the Armed Forces preparatory Institute, Adhirath Naruka was selected in SRM Amravati and is pursuing Mechanical Engineering. Oorvi Yarnal of commerce section got selected for the BBA course in Symbosis Pune and Gurpreet Kaur was selected at the Army Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore. Eight students of our school cleared the JEE Mains exam held in Jan 2019. Two students Arjun and Tanish cleared the written exam of NDA held in Sept and were felicitated with cash prize of Rs 5000.
Our students also proved their worth in various co- curricular activities. They brought laurels to the school at District, State and National levels. Pranjal Bharti of VII D won the 2nd District badminton Tournament under -14 girls category.
Our students Komal Tomar ,Divya and Shakshi Jaggi bagged the first position in various categories at district level 9th open athletic meet . They received 8 Gold Medals, 3 silver and 2 Bronze Medals.
In under -16 (Boys) Category our students received one Gold, two silver and one Bronze medals in various athletic events . At district level Boxing championship Ritik won Gold Medal and Amit and Suneha won silver Medals.
Shiva of XI D secured Ist Position in the Athletics meet of 5000m ( under -18) organized by Distt. Sports office Pathankot. Aditya Bawa of XIA and Amit Roy of XID were selected for the National Level Football camp under -17
Our school Boys bagged 2nd position in under 17 Kabaddi boys Zonal level tournament.
Chitarth Veer Singh of VIA was selected for the state Level Cricket under -14 Category. Shikhar of XII C and Ritkesh of XC were selected for National Level Basket Ball Competition .Our Students bagged the first prize in Distt. Level under -19 Volleyball Tournament for Girls. Our Karate students received 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 24 Bronze Medals in World Union Karate Federation at SMD. Our school students bagged first position in Inter APS Cluster level Basketball tournament for Boys & were Runners-up in Girls category.
Shiney of VIII-B bagged the first position in the Krishna Priya International Dance Competition held at Banaras.
APS Pathankot bagged Ist position in Inter-School Patriotic song Competition and Esha of class XI-C bagged the first prize in Inter school Painting competition held on 26th January.
Subashini of X-B got the IInd Prize in Sahodaya Inter School Painting competition. Somain & Ishika bagged 3rd position in Inter School Sahodaya Quiz Competition. Nancy, Ravneet and Ishika of Class XI stood 2nd in Cluster Level Inter APS English Debate Competition. Ravneet received the trophy of the best interjector .Our students won 11 Gold Medals, 14 silver Medals and 8 Bronze Medals in SOF English Olympiad . 6 students qualified for the IInd Level .Lakshya Rai of class IX-c qualified the SOF Scholarship of Excellence in English and received a cash prize of Rs. 5000/ . Ishant and Sukrit Ghosh of class first secured 14th rank at the international Level In SOF International Maths Olympiad and won gifts worth Rs. 1000, Medal of Distinction and certificate of zonal excellence. In SOF science National Olympiad our students won 9 Gold , 10 silver and 3 Bronze Medals. 2 students were selected for the IInd Level Exam.
The school also takes pride for the achievements of our NCC cadets. Our NCC girls secured Ist position in, drill Essay writing competition, Poster Making, solo Dance, Tug of war, and Rangoli making Competition and 2nd Position in Group dance, quiz and Mehandi competition. Angel Jarial was adjudged the Best NCC cadet in the annual training organized by Ist Punjab NCC Batalion. Our NCC cadets, cadet Paramveer and cadet Aaryan Thakur were selected for the Pre –Republic day camp.
Our teachers also brought laurels to school Dr Neeraj PGT (Bio) received the Dronacharaya award and 3rd officer Mrs Poonamdeep kaur received ANO appreciation award from ADG NCC.
Days of national and international importance like Independence Day, Republic day, AWES day Vigilance awareness week were celebrated to promote patriotism, unity and harmony among students .The functions and special occasions in the school are dedicated to the nation’s war heroes and martyrs to commemorate their valour and gallantary to instill these qualities in our students. An educational trip to IMA Dehradun was organized for the students of class XI, where they got an opportunity to witness the passing out parade.
To show case the scientific acumen, creativity and talent of students, Science, Maths social science and art exhibitions were organized . A Book fair was also organized to inculcate the student’s interest in reading. Various workshops based on language development strategies, methodologies to make teaching more interactive, value integrated teaching and learning and Personality Development are being conducted in school for teachers throughout the year. To bring out the hidden talents in students five Clubs have been introduced- Eco Club, Good living Club, Creative writing Club, Dramatics & public speaking Club, Reading Club.
Workshops based on career Counseling, internet safety, POCSO and examination pattern were conducted for parents. We all are well aware that technology has become the pen and paper of our time. So to meet the upcoming challenges of technology, we have provided our students with smart classes, language labs, well equipped computer labs and e-library.
Many milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached. We at APS Pathankot will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standards of education.
